about

I wrote this one with Sophia in mind and 5 minutes after I'd recorded a rough version (in my own croaky voice - on my iphone "memo" application), I received a text from Sophia looking to do some new recordings . A month later we walked out of the studio with this one.

lyrics

Yeah, I believed that we belong to something bigger than ourselves
And who was I to think you put it there for me and no one else
Singin’ “let it go, now sugar please” you know it still haunts me like a ghost

Watching you turn away again, I turn into someone I don’t know…

But you know who has been dying on the vine outside your window
And you know who just drank the night away
And you know who can’t remember what you felt like
Yeah you know who, but you won’t say

Yeah, I believed that you could fly so much higher than the rest
You couldn’t breathe up there my love, a secret safe with me I guess
So let it go, now sugar please, and don’t pretend it didn’t show
I can’t stand up for falling down, is the only thing I know.

But you know who has been dying on the vine outside your window
And you know who just drank the night away
And you know who can’t remember what you felt like
Yeah you know who, but you won’t say

No use crying ‘bout a silly little break up
Or lyin’ in bed wishin’ that you never wake up
(Don’t you know? Don’t you know?)

Don't you know...

Yeah, I believed that we belonged to something bigger than ourselves
And who was I to think you put it there for me and no one else
Singin’ “let it go, now sugar please” you know it still haunts me like a ghost

Watching you turn away again, I turn into someone I don’t know…

But you know who has been dying on the vine outside your window
And you know who just drank the night away
And you know who can’t remember what you felt like
Yeah you know who, but you won’t say

about

Dave Boylan Boulder, Colorado

Thanks for visiting us online. Managing songs is like herding cats...old revisions, new revisions, added a solo here, a backing vocal there, blah blah blah. Hoping to update this as we finish the songs...always a few in progress. Look for some country'ish stuff over the next few months. Yee-Haw.
Thanks.
